When I'm dancing, I'm not sure how, but when the music is right and the steps and movements flow I can step in to another world become another person. Its a beautiful feeling, just giving into the dance and melting to the world the melody has created for me, but sadly just minutes later I'm jolted back to real life.
Unlike when I'm dancing, when I'm taking photos I can create my own world. With my camera in my hand I am in control, I can manipulated whats in my frame to make you see exactly what I want you to. It was the first thing in my life where I was in complete control and do what ever I wanted and could create what ever I wanted.
When I dance I step into my very own Wonderland and when I shoot photos I can create my Wonderland and then show the world.
I recently came up with a theory that once you look through the lens of a camera, I mean really look through it not just snap a picture of you and your friends, you can never really look back, it changes your perspective of the world, everyday things once thought as ordinary become worthy to be framed and placed on a wall. Even the smallest piece of junk becomes a wonderland of photo opportunity. Very few things now seem "ugly" and you notice every little thing out there, the sparkle of dew drops, the feathered end of a blade of grass even the gravel on the side of the road, and its all beautiful. Having looked at the world through the lens of a camera I have become permanently alter, I am unable to see things as "ordinary" and "ugly" anymore, but I guess that's not a bad thing.

Through the Looking Lens...
Hey I'm Megan, and this Post is a quick look into what I like, which is basically what this blog will be all about. First the basics about me, I'm from Washington (thus the umbrella and overall paleness), I just graduated high school (finally!), and I head off to BYUI this September. Now for some stuff... :D
I love spending time with friends, goofing and whatever we do.
I'm a photographer (that's me! ^), I started out taking photography classes in high school and instantly fell in love with it.
I love to sleep (and obviously so does my sister ^), whenever I have free time it becomes nap time!
Besides photography Dancing is my other love! Its what I'm studying in school starting this fall, scary. Its beautiful how a dance and take you to a whole other world.
Reading; the ultimate escape. I constantly have my nose in a fiction book when I have time.
